These standards we know we more than achieve, and the
fact that many of our visitors have returned year after year, and in some cases
have remained for over two months, bears out our belief. A general view of the
site above shows the sanitaire and also that there is often sun and always
trees to stay cool, if you wish.. The site itelf covers about a hectare and a
half, about four acres, 15,000 square metres, so as we are limited to 10
emplacements this means that each camper can have around 1,500 square metres
(the actual requirement is 400 square metres). We have clearly so much space
that we are able to be generous with it and make no charges for additional
“pup” tents which many campers have for children, particularly grown up ones. Whilst
the site is lovely possibly one of the best features of Bourgade is, modesty
aside, ourselves. We have both been campers, and therefore tend to know what is
likely to be needed, and we are both keen to make you welcome. My wife,
Arlette, (Letty), is French but after many years in England speaks English like
a native, I (Peter) am English and after several years in France can make a
fair job of the language. We both also speak German. Our son, Philippe, as well
as his youth and strength, is totally bi-lingual. Whilst he usually occupies
himself with the grounds, he is able and willing to help you in any way.

Our aim is to be calm, quiet, and peaceful. With that in view, whilst we welcome children, there are no swings, etc., although, naturally, there is plenty of grass. We are, of course, well situated for a host of activities close by, as the first page indicates.

The Sanitaire
The picture shows the Sanitaire, with the house about two
hundred metres away in the background. We are far enough away to leave you to
your own devices but not far away if you need anything. In the season it is not
often that someone is not around.
The
building itself we built in the early 1990 ‘s although with the appearance
of beams which we have given it at the
ends many of our visitors think it is older. It measures about 7 x 7 metres,
divided lengthwise down the middle by an internal wall with three doors. Each
of these leads into a cubicle containing a w.c., a wash-basin, and a shower.
There is no limit to hot water, for which there is no additional charge. The
other half of the building consists of two sinks, with a worktop, for washing
up, and a small cabin in which we house the gas bottles and geyser to provide
the hot water, the cleaning equipment for the building, and the main
electricity board into which campers, usually, but not exclusively, those in
caravans, can connect electricity cables. We have enough extension leads to
reach anywhere on the site.
One further consideration
which will be of interest to caravanners is that the site and the approaches
are substantially flat and level
